Pinterest Analytics Made Easy: Turn Numbers into Business Growth

Hey there! I’m Jen, and just like you, I adore Pinterest for both fun and business.

Let’s be real—while creating awesome pins and engaging with your audience feels great, we all need to know if our efforts are truly paying off. That’s where Pinterest Analytics comes in, and I’m here to make it easy peasy for you. Ready to dive in? Let’s go!

Finding Your Pinterest Analytics

First things first, let’s locate those magical analytics. Open up Pinterest on your desktop—trust me, it’s easier to see all the data when you’re on a bigger screen. Make sure you’re logged into your business account. Click on your profile picture at the top right, then head over to the ‘Business Hub’ on the far left. Voila! You’ve officially entered the analytics zone.

At first glance, it might seem overwhelming. Don’t freak out. You don’t need a math degree to get this—promise!

Understanding Key Metrics

Alright, let’s break down the essential metrics you should keep an eye on:

Impressions

Think of impressions as your pin’s first impression—pun intended! It’s the number of times your pins appear on users’ screens. They could be on page five of search results, but hey, it counts.

Pin Clicks

Pin clicks are when someone taps on your pin for a closer look. Whether it’s in their feed or search results, if someone clicks through to see your pin’s full details, that’s a win in my book!

Saves

When someone loves your pin enough to save it to one of their boards, that’s a big thumbs-up. While it’s great for Pinterest’s algorithms, it’s not the full story. Saves show engagement, but you won’t always know the exact user intention behind it.

Profile Visits

If your pin intrigues someone enough to check out your profile, you’re doing something right. Profile visits mean more eyes on all your pins at once, which definitely helps build your follower base.

Followers

Speaking of followers: keep track of those new fans! Growing your follower count is a clear sign that your content resonates with people.

Reactions and Comments

Likes, hearts, and comments are gold. They not only show that people appreciate your content, but they also add social proof—making other users more likely to engage too.

Outbound Clicks

These are the “money clicks.” Outbound clicks indicate that people are heading to your website, blog, or service page from your pin. This is where you turn browsers into customers.

Video Metrics

If you’re sharing video pins, you’ll want to monitor these additional stats:

  • Video Views: Total number of times your video is viewed, even for a few seconds.
  • 10-Second Plays: If someone watches your video for at least ten seconds, they’re interested—celebrate that!
  • Average Play Time: How long on average people watch your video. Use longer watch times to gauge what content is truly captivating.

The Big Picture

Pinterest Analytics isn’t just about minute-to-minute updates. It’s about seeing long-term trends too. For example, compare your current data with last year’s numbers to understand seasonal trends. Trending down this month? It might just be a slow season—don’t stress.

When it comes to business growth on Pinterest, two metrics are your BFFs: pin clicks and outbound clicks. Focus on these to really understand if your Pinterest strategy is working. But hey, don’t neglect the other metrics. Pinterest cares about them, so should you, to keep those eyes on your pins.

Embrace Change

Remember, social media is always evolving—Pinterest included. Algorithm updates, new features, and disappearing tools can feel like a whirlwind. Stay focused on your goals, and adjust your strategies based on the metrics that matter most to you.

Monetize Your Pinterest: How to Use Affiliate Links to Boost Your Income

Are you looking to turn your Pinterest passion into a profitable venture? You’re in the right place! Pinterest is more than just a platform for discovering DIY pro jects and recipes; it’s a powerful tool for generating income through affiliate marketing. In this blog, we’ll dive into the ins and outs of using affiliate links on Pinterest, helping you boost your income while sharing the things you love. Let’s jump right in!

Understanding Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a win-win for both creators and brands. As an affiliate marketer, you promote products or services and earn a commission for every sale made through your unique affiliate link. Pinterest, with its visually-driven interface, is an ideal platform for showcasing products in an engaging way, making it easier to drive traffic and generate sales.

Choosing the Right Affiliate Programs

When selecting affiliate programs, look for ones that align with your niche and audience. High commission rates and reliable tracking are essential. Programs like Amazon Associates, ShareASale, and RewardStyle are popular choices among Pinterest users and is easy to sign up.  A lot of people try to sign up for programs that require a big following like LTK and Amazon Influencer program.  Just know that you have to start somewhere and once you get that following, you can apply for bigger harder to get into programs later.  With all the program, evaluate each program to find the best fit for your content.

Creating Compelling Pins for Affiliate Links

Design is key when it comes to Pinterest. Your pins should be visually appealing and relevant to the products you’re promoting. Use high-quality images, put text over the image with keywords that your ideal client uses for searches, create catchy pin titles and descriptions and include a call to action on the text overlay as well as the description of your Pin.  Don’t forget to include in the description that this is an affiliate link (unless you are linking to a blog on your website).

Affiliate Links vs. a Link to Your Blog

The best way to share affiliate links, in my opinion are to use a blog from your website.  On Pinterest you’re sharing your blog link.  In that blog, ensure you disclose there is an affiliate linke.  Put all the information on you blog about the product or service you are using an affiliate link for.  Don’t just share how amazing it is. Share about what you expected with the product or service and how it’s helped you and improved your life/job. If it’s a product, share a photo of you using the product – that will get you more trust.

Tracking and Analyzing Your Performance

Utilize tools like Pinterest Analytics and Google Analytics to track the performance of your affiliate pins. Monitor metrics such as clicks, saves, and conversions to understand what works best. Use this data to refine your strategy and improve your results.

Do Your Research

Learn from others who have successfully monetized their Pinterest accounts. Study their strategies, from pin design to affiliate program selection, and apply these insights to your approach. Real-life examples can provide valuable inspiration and guidance.

Bottom Line

Integrating affiliate links into your Pinterest strategy can be a game-changer for your income. By choosing the right programs, creating compelling content, and analyzing your performance, you can turn your pins into a profitable endeavor.

Unlocking the Power of Email Flows: The Key to Skyrocketing Your Sales with Amy Auble

Unlocking the Power of Email Flows: The Key to Skyrocketing Your Sales with Amy Auble marketing strategy academy podcast with jen Vazquez

Email marketing is a time-tested and effective tool for turning casual interest into loyal customers. Amy Auble, founder of Alpine Start Media, offers her invaluable experience in the industry for businesses that want to master email marketing to scale.

What are email flows?

Email flows are automated emails sent to subscribers after they join your list, providing ongoing engagement opportunities to nurture them into customers.

Top 3 email flows every business needs

  1. Welcome flow: Immediately greet new subscribers, deliver any promised freebies, and set the tone for your brand.
  2. Post-purchase flow: Follow-up with customers to provide product education and support, preventing buyer’s remorse.
  3. Abandoned cart flow: Remind those who left items in their cart to complete their purchase.

Biggest mistakes in setting up email flows

  • Easily exploited discount codes: Protect your margins by using individualized codes (available through platforms like Klaviyo).
  • Not optimizing for mobile: Design emails for the majority of users, who read on their phones. Ensure readability.
  • Not segmenting lists: Tailor emails to recipients by behavior – did they purchase multiple times? Tailor the email accordingly.

How to personalize email flows

Segment your audience: Break your list into smaller groups based on actions (opened emails recently? Clicked on links?) and send tailored content.

Tools for creating killer email flows

Klaviyo: This platform Amy recommends due to its Shopify integration, reporting, segmentation tools, and unique coupon code feature.

Design platforms: Utilize Canva for adding a custom, eye-catching design element to your emails.

Want to Learn Pinterest

We are doing a new Pinterest Challenge to learn to use Pinterest to grow YOUR business!

How to measure email flow success

Deliverability: Verify your domain with your email provider to ensure your emails aren’t flagged as spam. This is key!

Open rates: Aim for a 45%+ open rate. This depends on your industry, however.

Click rates: Even a 1-3% click rate is good for product-based businesses. Focus on building rapport over time to increase this.

3 things that helped Amy grow her business

  1. Networking: Connecting with fellow entrepreneurs offers support, insights, and new opportunities.
  2. Hiring help: Delegate tasks you’re not skilled at, or that you hate, to free up time to focus on your strengths.
  3. Stress management: Work-life balance is essential. Listen to your energy, make time for self-care, and prevent burnout.

The importance of sending regular emails

Stay consistent: Regularly sending emails keeps you top-of-mind and builds trust with your audience. Aim for at least one per week.

Provide value: Share educational content, promote your services, and offer insights that your subscribers find engaging.
