Steps to Drive More Traffic to Your Website From Social Media
Let’s be honest, the real reason we are on social media for our business is that we want to grow our business. Whether we enjoy social media or not, we do need to use it to drive traffic to our website which = business growth. So let’s dive in!
Link to Website
It’s so important that we utilize the bios from social media to drive traffic to our website. We all know this.
What you may not know is that you may be giving away traffic to Linktree (and others like it) instead of harnessing that traffic to go directly to our website. Every click to your website grows your google analytics, so giving away those clicks is flushing money down the toilet. (never thought I’d write the word toilet in a blog 😜).
You still want to have an amazing and easy experience for visitors to find what they want. I always advise my clients to use their websites like a Linktree. You want to create a links URL’s on your website. Mine is jenvazquezcoach.com/links. This way we control the experience and what’s available for them to click.
There are two schools of thought. One says only have 3-5 link options and the other is to have it organized but a way for them to “pick their own adventure”. I err on the side of letting them pick their own adventure as you can see from my page. But when I’m launching something, I use the link in the bio of my social media to the sign-up page link so I push people (again to my website, and not a landing page from your email client but that’s a whole other soap box).
Follows
You’ve probably heard this before but it’s true, don’t follow people because they follow you. I follow those that inspire me, but also I follow my ideal clients (female service-based businesses, specifically wedding pros.
You’ll get a notification when someone you follow follows someone else. You can then follow more people in that niche. You grow your following but it also provides a way through stories, and bio link to drive more and more people to your website.
Share Often
I have heard from my clients time and time again that they are afraid of bombarding people on social media. Sadly stats say that very few people actually see your content.
What I teach from my own experience, most people won’t see all your content. Feel free to share in multiple ways and
An example was my last Pinterest Challenge (which you can still sign up for), I chose to ignore my inner voice, “you are gonna bombard people with your crap”, and shared every day for 8 days.
One thing was a video, another was a graphic, then a different graphic, then another video, etc. You can see that here and reel here, and graphic here.
I ended up tripling my sign-ups from the last time I shared about a masterclass and I shared about that launch for three weeks.
Be Genuine
If you are genuine, you’ll speak to your ideal client and they’ll want to learn more about you. If we “talk” (everything you write) to our ideal client when creating content, it will resonate with the right people to pull them into you and your services.
I find when you are genuine, you attract your ideal clients and repel those that you won’t enjoy working with.
Sharing on Social Media Channel
There are a lot of different thoughts on this one. Here’s where I land. I believe if you are super short on time and the only way you’ll be able to share on all the social platforms you are on is to push to all platforms exactly the same. DO IT!!
“Marketing is most effective when you actually do it.” ~Jen Vazquez
If you have a few more minutes each week, the best thing to do is to tweak the copy according to which platform you are publishing and you can do this even if you use a third-party platform to publish to social media. I use Tailwind to do this and you can get a free trial right here.
